Are you looking to update your signature scent for spring? Celebrity fragrances hit the shelves with almost alarming regularity, so Shopomo has taken a sniff of the more recent arrivals and picked out a few favourites.
Winter is almost over so it’s time to overhaul your signature scent and update it for the new season. Switching to something lighter for spring is a great way to update your dressing table without spending too much.
With celebrity fragrances dominating, we take a look at some of the more recent releases. So whether you’re looking for something youthful or more grown up, there is a celebrity perfume out there for you. It’s just a case of finding it…
Fantasy In Bloom
Perfume producer extraordinaire Britney Spears has just added a twentieth scent to her ever-growing collection. Available February 2017 and exclusive to Superdrug, as the name suggests, Fantasy in Bloom has Cherry Blossoms on the packaging, whilst the fragrance itself has notes of Cherry Blossom, Osmanthus and Jasmine – all pulling together to create a light floral fragrance.
Rihanna is also a prolific perfumer and has ten fragrances to her name. Following on from Crush, (a ‘floriental’ fragrance that featured bergamot, mandarin and pink peppercorn) is her newest perfume, Kiss.
Just released for 2017, Kiss is a white floral scent with orange blossom, gardenia and peony.
Sweet Like Candy
Sweet Like Candy was released last year, but its bang on trend with the powder pink pompom (also a hair tie natch). This scent is sweet and sexy so best to avoid if your preferences are more citrussy or woody. Its key elements are sugar-frosted blackberry, Italian bergamot, crème de cassis, fluffy marshmallow and vanilla.
This is the 8th fragrance released by Nicki Minaj and produced by Elizabeth Arden. There are also *take a deep breath* The Pinkprint, Minajesty and Minajesty Exotic Edition, Onika and Pink Friday – also available in Special Edition and Deluxe Editions.
Designed to pay tribute to Nicki Minaj’s Trinidadian roots, Trini Girl is fruity and exotic with elements of Trinidadian Chaconia blossoms, creamy coconut and white musk.
Close to my Heart
For the fashionista, this fragrance by London based designer Bella Freud would add a panache to any dresssing table with it’s red bottle and iconic Chainstitch typeface. The scent whispers of neroli, rose de mai and jasmine with a heart of Tuberose Absolute.
For something a little more adult try Sarah Jessica Parker’s (SJP) third fragrance Stash. It’s very different from her first scent Lovely. This latest perfume according to SJP is “…a rule breaker, it’s unapologetically sexy and it is for everyone”. With top notes of black pepper, aromatic sage and grapefruit zest it packs more of a punch.
Velvet Orchid Lumieré EDT
Now, this might not strictly be a celebrity fragrance, but the campaign does feature supermodel of the moment Gigi Hadid. Maybe if we wear this we might look as sultry and sexy as she does… well we can dream.
The feminine scent is laced with bergamot, honey, jasmine absolute, black orchid, vanilla and tuberose in a super-lux purple glass bottle with gold accents. You need this in your life.
