The 5 Best Homemade Face Masks For Healthy Skin

Whether you suffer from dry skin or just desire a healthy glow, here are our homemade face mask recipes - guaranteed to leave skin flawless.

There’s nothing quite as enjoyable as a good old pampering sesh and one of our favourite elements of these are the luxurious face masks.

Whilst many shop-bought face masks feel great, they can be full of chemicals that are harsh on skin, doing more damage than good.

To give your face the treatment it deserves, we bring you our favourite homemade face mask recipes – so quick, easy (and cheap!) to make and always kind to skin.

Whatever your skin issues may be, here are the best face masks to nourish and replenish skin for good.

  • How To Make Your Face Mask

Before using any face mask, make sure you clean your face with warm water so that your pores are open and the ingredients can fully absorb into your skin.

When making any of these face masks, simply mix all of the ingredients together before applying all over face.

Leave on for as long as you want but for a minimum of 10-15 minutes before washing off with lukewarm water.

  • Avocado Face Mask

    Great For: dry skin

Avocados are rich in vitamins A and E which both have antioxidant properties that help repair damaged skin.

Not only does avocado add moisture to the skin, but it also helps lock moisture in making it perfect for those with dry skin.

Thanks to its many minerals including iron, potassium and calcium, an avocado face mask doesn’t just tackle the visible layer of skin but penetrates the deeper layers to leave skin as hydrated and revitalized as possible.

Skin is left deeply moisturized so that it’s soft, supple and full of life.

    1/2 ripe Avocado (mash this)

    1 tablespoon Plain Yogurt

    1 teaspoon Raw Honey

  • Egg Whites Mask

    Great For: tightening skin

Egg Whites are a great source of protein and collagen which have great skin care benefits.

Whilst protein can help improve skin elasticity, collagen works to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leaving skin looking more youthful and healthy.

Egg whites also work to tighten skin which helps shrink large pores and therefore improves overall skin tone and condition, preventing breakouts and blemishes.

1 Egg White (whisk until frothy)

    1 teaspoon Raw Honey

  • Oatmeal Face Mask

Great For: exfoliating and cleansing skin

An oats face mask makes for an excellent natural exfoliant as it gets rid of dead skin cells and clears out bacteria helping to heal and prevent skin conditions such as acne or eczema.

It is a great alternative to shop-bought exfoliant for people with sensitive skin as it is more gentle on skin thanks to it being made from natural ingredients only.

This will leave skin cleansed, soothed and refreshed.

    3 tablespoons Raw Oats

    1 tablespoon Plain Yogurt

It also has anti-bacterial properties that help destroy bacteria to fight off acne and prevent future breakouts.

This leaves skin softer, smoother and blemish free.
