On March 9th an update was launched for the Sony PlayStation 4 that enabled users to finally use external hard drives with the system to install applications or move applications from the PS4’s system storage.
Any USB storage device you use must be:
– USB 3.0 or later
– 250 GB minimum, 8TB maximum capacity
To start using your external HDD on the PS4, go to Settings> Devices> USB Storage Devices. Then select the connected USB storage device, and then format it for use as extended storage.
